Flooding at 55th Street, by Barth Pond’

Today many people are often shocked when they find out there is no coverage for sewer backing up from the street and overflows onto your premise.

Homeowner’s policies such as Safeco does not cover that on a home policy unless it’s endorsed.

The coverage that is covered, for example on Safeco’s policy, is when a toilet or drain gets clogged and overflows causing damage.

What is not covered are for example: water that escapes, overflows, or discharges from a sump pump ,sump well or any other system designed tp remove water which is drained from the foundation area.

What is NEVER covered is flooding caused by surface water or river ,overflow originating off premise, and water from sub-surface areas such as pools and sprinkler systems. No optional endorsement will cover for those extremes.
